| hello world! sooo, let's recap this week's event. I had an interview for Old Master's Host-Hostess--the program is an elite program that welcomes back Purdue Alums. It's an awesome program from what i've heard. My icebreaker question was "if i had a race horse, what would I name him/her." Well i chose "get'ER done." I won't find out if i make it until Tuesday. I know most seniors try to stay the least involved, but what can I say, I'm just trying to make the most of my four years here.
In other news, I cooked egg rolls and garlic noodles for Greg and his roommates. They loved them. But an all-male's apartment definitely lacks cooking hardware. I offered up longans for desert but they didn't like them too much--so I pretty much ate all of them as usual. I promised to make them my fav. (glutinous balls) next time. Oh yea, the west lafayette asian grocery store is beat--selection was slim, but they did have mochi--which I made Greg get too. If anyone is looking for a business idea and wants to live in West Lafayette, they should open up a Asian food store.
After I cooked, I went with Mike to his barndance. shot gunned beers all night, need I say more. I passed out on the bus ride twice. And my boots are broken--falling apart. I need to take them to a cobbler, or whoever fixes boots. :( Anyhow, i will try to learn how to post pictures up sometime or another. until then, take it easy.
cheers, d.y.ho
ps. I am listening to Corneille, "Parce qu'on vient de loin" i heard it in french class, GREAT song!
quote of the week: "see, deanna, the nice thing about you is that you don't have to drink to be cool" courtesy of mr. young.
| Same old same old...nothing too exciting. School, bars, hanging out with the girls, and doing panhellenic stuff. I've promised erik to cook chinese food for him, justin and kaufmann for his birthday, but I can't seem to find a free day. Greg and his roommates are also looking forward to the chinese dinner I promised them. I'm also booked to cook chinese food for my whole pledgeclass...haha. I'm thinking about starting a chinese catering service. I mean I must say i'm a pretty amazing cook. :) Anywho, things are going well. I have a test tomorrow and 4 papers due this week. and an old masters ho-ho interview on tuesday. Its the story of my college days. I love it! PS I had to rotate volleyballs for the Mortar Board Premier Volleyball tournament, I miss volleyball soooo much, but to be honest i guess i miss being in my "prime" or my glory days of being a high school athlete.
Sidenote: My friends think i should go into the CIA. I think I should too. Imagine that.
| hmmm...i should definitely be doing something other than posting on xanga, but oh well. Recruitment is starting up this weekend. I will be locked in the house. It will be the first and only time that I will be in the house while recruitment is going on, so I will either A.) lose my mind or B.) Get stuff done. One extreme or the other. I just got a palm parlor and named it "Barclay" It's a cutie, I think I am going to go get a vase and soil for it. Just recently I've been developing these school girl crushes on these computer techies at the DLC in Hicks undergrad library. There is just something about men who help me with computer stuff...i don't know. Don't get me wrong, they are definitely cute to be techies, and they are skaters it seems like because they were skate apparel. So thats attractive. Important lesson i learned about plants the other day. I was expecting to go in and buy a plant at panhel's plant sale, well i ended up stalking the plant expert(another cutie with blond dredlocks and only about 5'3") for an hour on what plant to get and how to take care of it. well i got to go back to the plant sale and get some help on francais. cheers, d.y.ho | | |
| August 21! Last couple of days have been filled with lots of meetings and retreats, but great nights of catching up with piphis, gimlets, and bod'ers. Just got word that I will be out at camp tecumseh again for the mortar board retreat. should be interesting...hopefully it won't be too hot out there like it was this week. thank god for dave fox, mike, alex being in the pledge class as well. Okay, classes start tomorrow. Still no job as of yet, but I'm planning on landing one soon. I'll keep you all posted. I've got to go promote the greek system right now, so i'm out.
PS. Funny story, apparently they are running the greek campaign on the city buses around town, so my photo along with bethany, scott, kyla, and celex, are posted all over campus. quite embarrasing. I'm not the type that wants my photo everywhere, especially if it is a wretched one!
